I have come to realize how much time I spend focusing on the “things” I want to change in my life…
I have my mental list of the habits, fears, hurts, weaknesses that I would like to eliminate or conquer. Although my intentions are good I also realized how much time and energy I spend on the “bad or negative” things in my life.
I had this mental image the other day of a person in a pitch black room with a scoop shovel and he was diligently and tirelessly trying to shovel the darkenss out of this room.
When it came to me so clearly… if you want to get rid of the darkness why not just turn on the light?
Since then I am spending far less time focusing on what I want to change and far more time focusing on the light…
Gods goodness, love, care, kindness, faithfulness, and forgiveness are more than adequate focus on these things…
