Yesterday a weary broken man wandered into The House (our totally cozy student lounge).
He sat at the coffee bar and struck up a conversation with a young man who was studying.
With joy and tears these two strangers shared their stories. The talked for several hours
The young man marveled at the profound impact of this experience.
Both men left the building changed.
One of the most valuable things we can do to heal one another is listen to each other’s stories.”

I read this article by Salynn Boyles who suggests that happiness is like a flu bug. You infect every person that you come in contact with.
Researchers from Harvard University and the University of California, San Diego have mapped the relationships of happy people and found that happiness is a collective phenomenon that spreads like a virus through social networks – they concluded that the happiness of an immediate social contact increased an individual’s chances of becoming happy by 15%.

Change your world one smile at a time.
. . . I say to you, he who believes in Me, greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father —John 14:12
Prayer does not equip us for greater works — prayer is the greater work. Yet we think of prayer as some common sense exercise of our higher powers that simply prepares us for God’s work.
In the teachings of Jesus Christ, prayer is the working of the miracle of redemption (Buying back) in me, which produces the miracle of redemption in others, through the power of God. The way fruit remains firm is through prayer.
Prayer is the battle, and it makes no difference where you are. However God may engineer your circumstances, your duty is to pray.
Yet we refuse to pray unless it thrills or excites us, which is the most intense form of spiritual selfishness. We must learn to work according to God’s direction, and He says to pray.
“Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” ( Matthew 9:38 )
Our Own Worst Enemy
Satan is a scape-goat for many people’s problems.
In reality if you really want to know why some areas of your life aren’t working, closely look at your habits.
Negative habits breed negative consequences. Successful habits create positive rewards.
Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. Galatians 6:8
Character flaws are like bad breath – you are the only one who is not aware of them.
You are blessed if you have someone in your life that is not afraid to tell you the truth about yourself.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. Proverbs 27:6
Let a righteous man strike me -
it is a kindness; let him rebuke me -
it is oil on my head.
My head will not refuse it.
Psalm 141: 5
In an interview with Jimmy Swaggart the question was asked “who says “no” to the great evangelist ”?
Reverend Swaggart and his assistant laughed until they were in tears.
When the assistant regained his composure he replied “Absolutely Nobody says No to Jimmy Swaggart.
